- I am a competent ICT user in most areas and have the necessary skills in most of the skills areas
- I have an action plan in order to address any weaknesses as stated above
- I am also aware that ICT can be an extremely effective tool in the classroom and can be used to support children's learning across the curriculum and not just in discrete ICT sessions
- I am aware of legislation related to Internet safety for children after familiarising myself with CEOP, Think U Know and Click Safe, Click Clever
- I feel that working on my action plan and my weaker areas from the skills audit, I will be able to integrate ICT into the classroom in order to support teaching and learning
- By understanding and promoting Internet safety, I will be able to use the Internet with pupils in order to encourage use of the Internet as an effective learning tool
Skills Audit - January 2013
- Over the course of GPP I have become a much more proficient user of the Smart board, this is a fantastic tool which can be used to support all areas of the curriculum
- I have also had the chance to teach ICT to a class of 30 children, this had made me much more confident in this area and has shown me that children require exploration and thinking time when applying learning in ICT
- I also developed skills in other software areas. This included use of Revelation Natural Art with the pupils. This meant that children could apply their creativity through ICT
- I have also become more confident with use of online materials with children. I am aware of Internet safety regulations and this awareness permitted me to use Internet materials as hooks into topics/themes/whole curriculum areas
- The selection of use of appropriate games online in order to support learning and progression. This has included use of websites such as BBC and Espresso
- The ability to encourage children to use and become engaged in ICT is something that I have further developed
- Making children realise the links between word processing and work done in literacy

- I have had the opportunity to integrate ICT into a number of lessons throughout my various teaching placements
- I have had the opportunity to observe ICT lessons and how ICT can serve as a tool to support literacy learning
- I feel confident and believe that I will be able to successfully integrate ICT effectively throughout the rest of my teaching career
- My aim from now is to stay up to date with advances in ICT to ensure that I am providing the best teaching and the best resources in my classroom
